The small, idyllic Weggis, a holiday village on the shores of Lake Lucerne and at the foot of the Swiss Alps, has always fascinated tourists with its mild climate and the sense of extreme tranquillity and complete relaxation that one gets when observing its splendid views. Even the American author and travel writer Mark Twain, back in 1897, was so enchanted by these views that he described Weggis as the ‘most beautiful place’ he had ever visited.
The Chenot Group, a leader in preventive health and wellness with almost 50 years of experience, could only choose Weggis to open its leading Luxury Wellness Retreat, where it combines a stay in unspoilt nature with remise en forme with specialised detox, preventive and regenerative treatments, as well as products that promote beauty, healthy living and protection against premature ageing.
The renovation of the former Park Hotel Weggis and the creation in its place of the Chenot Palace Weggis was entrusted to Swiss architect Davide Macullo, whose design perfectly reflected the Chenot Group’s philosophy of wellness and healthy living, and at the same time the purity and tranquillity of the destination. The use of natural, locally sourced materials and the adoption of traditional Swiss construction techniques made it possible to harmonise the character of the original building with the new one, while the neutral colours, clean, linear forms, large spaces and light convey a feeling of profound connection with nature and promote the balance of body and mind in an atmosphere of vitality and energy.
The Chenot Rooms with Sleep Technology are the absolute novelty, where acoustics, light and bedding that transforms body heat into energy use these design and interior architecture solutions to create a natural environment for truly restful sleep.
A good quality of sleep is in fact a fundamental component for the correct application of the Chenot® Method, which aims to stimulate the body’s ability to recognise energetic, physical, emotional impulses in order to heal itself. After a complete screening and a series of cutting-edge diagnostic examinations required to analyse the so-called Chenot Lifestyle Biomarkers®, the team of doctors and professionals designs a personalised programme for each Guest, to be followed during a one-week stay (7 nights and 6 days of treatments), with the aim of helping them to regenerate, heal and express their full potential by identifying the most correct habits to integrate into their routine to achieve total well-being.
Thanks to the ongoing research of the Human Performance department, Chenot Palace Weggis can offer its Guests a range of treatments that improve their physical and reaction capacities to face daily challenges, to do prevention, and to promote healthy ageing.
Just like sleep, the diet plan is equally essential for the perfect success of the Chenot® programmes, because only a correct diet can guarantee faster cell repair and an adequate supply of energy. Under the skilful guidance of Executive Chef, Ettore Moliteo, a pupil of the great Chef Pietro Leemann and former Executive Chef of one of the most important Italian plant-based restaurants, Mater Terrae at the Bio Hotel Raphaël in Rome, the kitchen brigade is committed to selecting fresh, organic, local, vegetable ingredients and experimenting with different cooking techniques to create dishes with the right balance of proteins, good fats and low glycaemic index carbohydrates.
Based on the concept that food is therapy and not just fuel, the Chenot® Diet therefore works in perfect synergy with the Spa treatments. Covering an area of 5,000 square metres, the Chenot Palace Weggis Spa with its hand-carved ceilings evoking scenes of forests, roots, water and fire is a place of rediscovered serenity, where Guests regain their natural rhythm and vital balance by coming back into harmony with their bodies, relaxing their minds and listening to their breath.
