An awareness developed over time by Irene Forte, shaping a wellness philosophy focused on excellence, where her passion for all things natural is combined with science and the expertise of skilled professionals, capable of delivering aesthetic and therapeutic benefits to the guests of the Spas at Rocco Forte Hotels, the luxury hotel chain founded by her father, Sir Rocco Forte, in 1996.

A long-standing family of entrepreneurs and hoteliers, dating back to 1911, an important legacy, the basis for creating an idea of ​​Hospitality, which stands out in design, in the culinary offering, in Wellness, and in the relationship with the Guest, to whom the utmost attention is given. Many of the family members contribute with different expertise to enhance and develop the Rocco Forte Hotels brand, which does not stop but rather grows with new openings and projects also in the field of luxury residences.

Today we focus on the Wellness area.

It all started for Irene Forte from Sicily, when in 2003 she found herself visiting the southern coast of the island, which would become the Verdura Resort in 2009, perhaps the ‘wildest’ property of Rocco Forte Hotels. It was here that Irene became passionate about the territory, the community and its fruits and as head of communication she took on the role of Spa Consultant for the family hotel chain, realizing that there was a lack of a common line for Guest care and also a series of natural, effective and scientifically tested products, to achieve the most authentic ‘Wellbeing’.

Irene Forte Skincare

This is how Irene Forte Skincare was born in 2018, a completely ‘personal’ brand in which the sustainability of the processes and the quality of the skin products, entirely natural and veganOK certified, become two key aspects. The source of the raw materials is the Organic Farm of Verdura Resort with its 230 hectares of land where fruits, vegetables and herbs of all kinds are grown according to organic principles and without chemicals. A continuous source of experimentation that has benefited since its birth from the experience of Dottoressa Francesca Ferri, Scientific Director of Irene Forte Skincare, and a pioneer together with her team in the use of plant extracts for the treatment of skin diseases and its deterioration processes.

Nature and Science go hand in hand and over time have allowed the creation of unique treatments in which nothing is overlooked: their healing plant-based properties together with their natural fragrance and delicacy.

The approach to health is thus integral and focuses on pleasantness and effectiveness without being aggressive. Thanks to clinical studies, even on very sensitive skins, scientific tests in the laboratory, and practices in the Spa, through highly professional experts, a new line of products has been created and is renewed over time.

Science and Nature

Numerous are the discoveries and the techniques used by Dr. Francesca Ferri, including a particular process of extracting melatonin from plants, fitomelatonina, to prevent or treat skin aging; the use of resveratrol, a molecule of plant origin, present in grapes, blueberries and raspberries, for the treatment of psoriasis and dermatitis, as well as the use of avenanthramides, powerful polyphenols derived from oats, as anti-inflammatories.

The basic ingredients of Irene Forte collection come from the most varied plants: from Hibiscus Esculenta (Hibiscus Night Cream, Hibiscus Serum), to the polysaccharides extracted from Indian fig leaves  (Prickly Pear Face Cream), to glutathione – present in several foods – associated with lavender and rosemary waters with antioxidant properties (Lavender Face Cream).

Just to mention some of the beauty treatments, but the Skincare line is constantly growing and refining in an area where research and demand for new formulations is constantly evolving.

Certifications

For Irene Forte, body care also means environmental and social care, as testified by the awards obtained over time, including the B Corp certification for the company’s positive social and environmental impact with a very high overall score (99.5) and the Butterfly Trust certification, as a brand that meets the highest standards of sustainable luxury.

The real challenge for Irene Forte – having also achieved the Carbon Footprint Standard accreditation – is undoubtedly to become Carbon Neutral by 2030. An ambition but also a sincere interest in being an example of a young and modern company in which production follows ethical and transparent processes necessary to reduce the impact of production activities on the environment.
