Il Borro

“A timeless act of faith”.
Ferruccio Ferragamo

Il Borro is a Relais & Châteaux acquired by Ferruccio Ferragamo in 1993 after numerous trips to this Tuscan medieval hamlet from which he was so impressed that he wanted to completely embellish and restore it with an eco-sustainable approach, thanks to the collaboration with local companies.

Today Il Borro is a highly prestigious ‘widespread hotel’ able to offer various types of stay (a historic central home, several suites, various villas, agritourism solutions) but at the same time it is an organic farm and winery, with a farm-to-table restaurant.

Osteria del Borro and Il Borro Tuscan Bistro are expression of the Executive Chef Andrea Campani’s creativity in proposing traditional Tuscan dishes according to the principles of seasonality, freshness, and waste reduction.

The Guest is immersed in a luxuriant nature, where history, traditions and excellence contribute to an incomparable well-being.

Environment care is a priority for the Ferragamo family, according to an increasingly sustainable vision. Respect for the earth and its natural cycles takes place thanks to the use of biodynamic practices. Natural products are used to enhance soil fertility for the cultivation of extra virgin olive oil, honey, vegetables and cereals but also for high quality winemaking.

The Upper Valdarno has always been the ideal soil for vine cultivation. The production of Sangiovese excels but also of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah.

The sustainability published annually makes visible all the actions aimed at preserving the environment, including the use of renewable energies and photovoltaic panels, which produce a surplus of energy, making Il Borro zero carbon dioxide emissions. Rainwater is also recovered for the irrigation of the fields and the restaurant facilities have been sanitized since 2015 through ozone.

Everything contributes to create memorable Experiences: horse riding, tennis, golf, excursions in the Tuscan countryside but also wine tastings, cooking classes, visits to artisan shops.

Nothing is missing. You just need to let yourself be carried away by the ‘Beauties’ of the hamlet.
