Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco embodies a mission: to be the custodian of a territory rich in art, history and traditions. Montalcino and the Val d’Orcia are magical places for what they can offer: the wine, the products of the land and the artisan artifacts make the services of this Luxury Hotel immensely rich and its role is to preserve and pass them on, creating Guest Experiences, which cannot be easily forgotten.
Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco has 42 suites, 11 villas, two restaurants, a cooking school and a Spa. It also houses a historic winery producing the famous Brunello di Montalcino, thanks to the large vineyards on the estate and on the Tuscan coast, and a private Golf Club, designed by the US Champion Tom Weiskopf. Both the cellar for tasting tours and the Golf Club for enthusiasts offer privileged access to the Resort Guests.
Last year Travel+Leisure recognized Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco as Best Hotel in the World, Best Resort in Europe, Best Resort in Italy. An ambitious goal.
The elegant suites located in the historic Borgo combine the Tuscan tradition made of period furniture, handcrafted pieces and local fabrics, with all the most modern technologies. The same goes for the 11 villas built from 17th and 18th century farmhouses with independent kitchens, heated swimming pools, terraces and gardens, which overlook the Tuscan countryside.
Thanks to the Campo del Drago restaurant, fresh from its first star in the Michelin Guide Italy 2023 and the 2 Forks in the Italian Restaurant Guide 2023, and to the Osteria La Canonica, it is possible to taste authentic traditional dishes.
The Executive Chef Matteo Temperini after having trained in France (Alain Ducasse) and in various foreign cities (New York, Macao, Lugano) came back with Rosewood to its origins. He personally selects his local suppliers, using top quality Tuscan products grown with a highly sustainable approach and investing a lot of his time caring for the organic garden, an essential source for his creations.
The 180 varieties of seasonal herbs and vegetables from the garden are an inexhaustible inspiration and mark a deep bond with the land and its community.
Well-being is also the basis of the Spa natural treatments with products derived from olive oil, grapes and local flowers (the iris). A line of wine cosmetics stands out – Lajatica – based on pomace with antioxidant properties.
A holistic approach marks every moment spent inside this superb Italian Resort.
